1. Spa of the Year (Southeast Asia & the Pacific)

A spa facility committed to wellness in Southeast Asia and the Pacific (includes Australia, Cambodia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam). A range of innovative therapies must be offered, including beauty and wellness programmes that are equally dedicated to fitness, spa treatments and lifestyle consultations.

2. Spa of the Year (North & West Asia)

A spa facility committed to wellness in North and West Asia (includes mainland China, Hong Kong and India). A range of innovative therapies must be offered, including beauty and wellness programmes that are equally dedicated to fitness, spa treatments and lifestyle consultations.

3. Urban Spa of the Year

Located in an urban environment, an ‘Urban Spa’ must provide an extensive treatment menu suited to the needs of both its city clientele and tourists. A range of therapies must be offered, including beauty and holistic packages that can be customised to accommodate multiple shorter visits while also providing an escape from city pressures.

4. Day Spa of the Year

A day facility with spa, without residential lodging. Treatments range in length from an hour or less to a full day, thereby accommodating local clientele. A range of therapies must be offered, including beauty and holistic packages that can be customised to accommodate multiple shorter visits.

5. New Spa of the Year

A new spa that has opened within the last twelve months; it can be located in a city or destination setting.

6. Men’s Spa of the Year

A spa facility committed to wellness of body, mind and spirit with an extensive menu that offers a range of male-oriented treatments, such as sports massage and specialty facials for men.

7. Eco-Spa of the Year

A spa and wellness facility devoted to the care and preservation of the environment, with socially conscious facilities. An ‘Eco-Spa’ offers an expansive and innovative wellness programme while also demonstrating a commitment to the environmental impact, economical and social development, energy efficiency, conservation, management, use of land and the staff, customers and community involvement.

8. Medi-Spa of the Year

A spa facility that offers a range of medical treatments within a spa-like setting; these can include invasive, traditional and complimentary health therapies.

9. Destination Retreat of the Year

A destination retreat offers a range of wellness programmes, as well as an extensive spa menu, including signature treatments and packages. Equally dedicated to fitness, spa treatments, healthy dining, lifestyle consultations and lodging facilities, destination retreats should take a well-rounded approach to wellness.

10. In-Spa Training of the Year

Provides initial training and training programmes for optimal staff development. The emphasis is on ongoing training in order to deliver excellent and consistent service. This extends beyond technical skills (massage techniques etc), to include a broader knowledge of the overall spa experience, treatment benefits, customer service etc.

11. Spa Treatment of the Year

A specific treatment or therapy carried out in a spa facility. The treatment should possess innovative therapeutic qualities intended to improve the client’s health and/or well-being.

12. Holistic Treatment of the Year

An innovative treatment that aims to treat the person as a whole. Instead of using allopathic methods (traditional Western medicine), the treatment attends to an individual’s physical, emotional, spiritual and mental well-being.

13. Men’s Spa Treatment of the Year

A specifically male-oriented treatment or therapy carried out in a spa facility. The treatment should possess innovative qualities intended to improve the client’s health and/or well-being.

A results-driven treatment or therapy carried out in a spa facility. The treatment demonstrates unique and innovative qualities intended to improve the client’s beauty and/or health.

A spa product line used in spa facilities that is both popular and results-oriented.

16. Anti-Ageing Product Line of the Year

A spa product line designed and proven to decrease the effects of ageing.
