Guilt-Free Luxury

Offering sustainable luxury without compromising comfort is Jetwing Yala, one of the winners at the 2016 Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP) Sustainable Hotel Award. It boasts Sri Lanka’s largest privately owned solar installations of 300 kilowatts and a comprehensive waste and wastewater recycling system, so all waste is treated and either reused on-site or separated at source and quantified before disposal. Renewable energy is used to provide hot water, while seawater is filtered through a reverse osmosis system to avoid putting strain on freshwater resources. Guests can also take an insider look at the hotel’s green operations on a tour with the staff.
