A Hideaway for the Senses

Hong Kong’s luxury day spa operator Sense of Touch recently opened the doors to its new Tseung Kwan O property. Designed as a destination spa and located on the veranda of the Crown Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East, the new spa is tucked away neatly, offering a hidden sanctuary amidst the urban jungle with seven Balinese style pavilions and a spacious patio – where one can enjoy afternoon tea – facing the pedicure lounge. The decor is an eclectic mix of modern luxury and Eastern influences.

THE DEAL

I’m booked in for their signature Elemis Revitalizing Experience with an additional Oxygen Infused Facial. The latter can be done as a stand-alone treatment or simply added on to your massage. The whole journey lasts about three hours and 15 minutes, but it’s well worth it, as the results are visible after only one session.

THE LOWDOWN

The treatment begins with a dry body brush to boost the body’s circulation, followed by a lime and ginger salt scrub, a steam shower and a warm basalt stone massage.

The Oxygen Infused Facial contains various processes, starting with a cleanse and a rose peel, which contains jojoba for better hydration. Further steps include a hand massage, followed by another gentle cleanse and the oxygen therapy, which introduces a pump that stimulates the cells, helping the skin absorb the serum. Up next is the pro collagen face mask, followed by the application of eye/face serum and pro collagen marine cream, and rounded off with a head and shoulder massage.
