Healing Waters

Over-water living just got even better at Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa with the unveiling of their new all-villa accommodations. Each haven has been renovated to include its own private infinity pool and day bed alcove. The sprawling wooden sun deck has been extended to include loungers, sunbathing net and a dining area shaded by an open-air pavilion, and steps leading into the warm crystal lagoon when you fancy a dip.

Interiors have also been revamped, now featuring a walk-in wardrobe and oversized marble bathroom with shower and freestanding ocean-view tub. Drawing on the traditions of local craftsmen, rooms feature handmade Maldivian thatch roofs and architectural details that offer a sense of place.

In addition to extra space and tech upgrades, innovative touches have been added at The Spa, its new Healing Waters menu aiming to reconnect guests to the sea and themselves. Located on its own private island and accessed by traditional Maldivian dhoni boat, the marine-based skincare brand OSEA is used and contains healing properties from salt, seaweed and algae. Some treatments use sustainably harvested sea grass from the resort’s own lagoon.

Of the ocean-themed therapies, most spectacular is The Secrets of the Sea, which takes place at 10pm, and affords the guest or couple the entire island to themselves. The 150-minute ritual begins with a warming wrap and relaxing bath with fresh seaweed before the Kuda Huraa Healing Waters Massage is performed on cushions of warm water. Under a starlit sky, surrounded by lapping waves, calmness washes over as you melt away, mind still and body balanced.
