Find emotional balance at Kamalaya Koh Samui
The spring equinox falls on March 20 this year, and chances are it’s not only your house that needs a good cleaning. So we’ve rounded up three wellness retreats that will help you shake off the winter doldrums and start the season feeling refreshed and renewed.
Nyepi Silent Retreat: Revivo Wellness Resort
Based on the Balinese tradition of observing a day of silence in honour of the new year, which is celebrated on a dark moon ‘Tilem Kesanga’ in March or April, Revivo’s Nyepi Silent Retreat focuses on the interconnection between body and mind. Guests can stay for three to seven days, during which devices and all forms of communication with other guests are banned.
The intense meditation regimen is based on the practice of vipassana, or ‘to see things as they really are’, and is intended to improve focus on the present while clearing the mind and gaining self-control. Each retreat is tailored to the individual guest’s needs and includes Revivo’s renowned organic food and spa treatments, as well as instructions on how to continue the meditation practice at home.
