Looking back on how the company has grown to be a results-based and holistic wellness provider, she recalls, “In 2010, under the direction of my son Nick and daughter Khursheed, we launched our skincare brand in a format that was conducive to the spa industry…This comprised of newly developed skincare, packaging and a spa treatment range into our branded offering.”
Using unique and therapeutic ingredients and incorporating a wealth of clinical experience, Subtle Energies has built the reputation of a supplier of high grade essential oils and treatments, which can now be found at various destinations around the globe, such as Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat in Australia and Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives. This year, the company has also launched a “powerful range of treatments in collaboration with The Peninsula Hotels under the brand Sattva by Simply Peninsula”.
While the company is working to establish a stronger international presence, Irani does not forget to share her knowledge of natural therapies through education. “We are expanding our education offering through our college and developing a platform that will allow our intensive diploma course to be accessed on a multinational level,” says Irani, who is also the co-founder of Ayurveda Yoga Australia, a platform dedicated to Ayurveda and yoga to “bring awareness of the true spirit of the sciences to the community”.
After 22 years in the field, Irani continues to dedicate herself to the industry and is hoping to publish a series of books. So what is her secret of success? From her ancestors, family and teachers, she says, she has learnt to have shraddha (faith), saburi (patience), perseverance and karni (good deeds), which she has inculcated into her children. “As a family-owned business, we always work sending that vibration of unconditional love, light and prayer into our blends, products and business…We do not look at negativity as a failure; it is our lesson in learning to improvise. Above all else we work with integrity and trust, never compromising on quality.”
