Medi Muse

In peaceful Hua Hin, wellness giant Chiva-Som is introducing a series of Eternal Youth Retreats that will put to good use their newly renovated Niranlada Medi-Spa. Offering both modern aesthetic treatments and micro-invasive cosmetic survery, Niranlada is a quiet refuge for clients looking for aesthetic assessments, corrective treatments and minimally invasive surgery to regain younger-looking skin and a more youthful appearance. Treatments will begin with a consultation and computerized 3-D facial imaging with colour photography to determine skin condition, followed by customised rejuvenation treatments for improvement.

For the Boys

At all three Karma resorts including Karma Kandara in Bali, Karma Spa has launched a series of men’s treatments targeting the areas they need the most work on, the neck and shoulders.For Men’s Retreat Time, guests will get an hour of massage along with a deep repair hydrating facial and a generous neck and shoulder massage. A traditional wet shave and either manicure or pedicure is then applied. This two and a half hour treatment also comes with time in the infrared sauna. Results-oriented facial products will also be available.

Silken Surprise

Avista Kata Beach Resort and Spa is the perfect getaway with meandering swimming pools and close proximity to the beach. The Sukko Spa is small but effective with three double treatment rooms offering a wide range of herbal-inspired treatments. The spa also has a range of packages that include sun care and Thai silk experiences, but the highlight is the Tradition of Balance treatment that spans over two hours and includes a salt body scrub, Thai massage and stimulating foot massage all designed to balance the elements and energy of the body and mind.

Sustainable Bliss

At Jaypee Green Golf and Spa Resort, a three storey sustainable building houses the Six Senses Spa with an organic garden which provides herbs, fruits and flowers for locally-inspired treatments. Along with a yoga studio, aerobics pool and juice bar, the spa offers four single treatment rooms, steam, sauna and ice showers. There are also special Ayuvedic treatment rooms, hydrotherapy and Watsu, as well as Hammams and a meditation cave. Locally-inspired treatments include Indian Secrets, a renewing full body scrub using natural herbs followed by a hot oil hair treatment, milk bath and foot massage, or the Pehlwan Malich Massage, an ancient oil massage that reduces muscle tension.

Private Spa-ing

Madame Zabre Spa Retreat has just recently opened on Desroches Island and offers accommodation and indulgent spa treatments. Being the most expensive villa in the Seychelles, the retreat has three private swimming pools and can be configured with its own spa suite. The unique Shell Escape journey is a three and a half hour sensory experience that begins with a foot soaking ritual followed by a consultation and body scrub. Next a purifying clay mask detoxes the skin after which a long-stroked massage using metal massage oil. Finally a harmonising facial completes the experience leaving skin vibrant and healthy.

Saigon Soother

Xuan Spa at the Park Hyatt Saigon has recently brought in Pevonia Botanica products, refreshing their menu with a whole new range of treatments. Highlights include the Body Age Renewal Therapy featuring a micronised algae powder body wrap that gives skin a firmer and more youthful appearance. Also the Body Detox and Repair is a Moroccan cocoon with Rassoul that uses volcanic ash to purify and cleanse the skin followed by a warm mud application with stimulating minerals. Xuan Spa features seven treatment rooms before a tropical garden and includes Vichy shower facilities and an outdoor pool.

Island Bliss

Centara Hotels and Resorts has recently launched their new Cense by SPA Cenvaree brand at the Centara Hotel and Convention Centre in Khon Kaen. Focusing on the needs of busy travellers, the spa offers a range of treatments designed to be both efficient and relaxing. A highlight for busy travellers, the hot oil aromatherapy massage and traditional Thai remedies such as massage and herbal compress can be enjoyed in one of four treatment rooms. There are also steam and sauna facilities and a foot massage room for guests to enjoy.

Hyatt Regency Dar Es Salam, The Kilimanjaro boasts breathtaking views of the harbour and Indian Ocean, soothing the soul as the Anantara Spa soothes the aches and stresses of your body. The spa offers two couples’ suites as well as four treatment rooms all inspired by local culture and indigenous art. The signature Kilimanjaro Experience is a journey replete with local flavours and ingredients to tantalise the senses leaving skin smooth and soft.

Enticing those with a desire to be pampered in serene surroundings, the beautiful Maya Ubud Resort and Spa offers its exquisite new treatment available until March 2013, the Tropical Escape Papaya-Pineapple Crème-Fraîche Wrap. An experience of true indulgence with the added benefits of anti-ageing and reducing sun damage, it begins with a papaya and pineapple body scrub that uses a rich sea salt mousse to leave the skin soft and supple. The body is then enveloped in a wrap of the two signature fruits, enriched with calcium and pomegranate extract as well as polypeptides for smoothing and firming. The newly opened Courtyard by Marriott in Bali has partnered with Bali International Medika Citra Hospital to offer the country’s first ever medical tourism packages and services. From surgical to non-surgical medical procedures, the hotel will now be equipped to deal with the post-care of these treatments through special diets, nutrition as well as unique spa and wellness programmes. The hotel’s C-Spa has five treatment rooms including three for couples and will offer spa treatments including an exotic coffee scrub and Royal Javanese Lulur.
